AABC San Diego Advanced Automotive Battery Conference

The AABC is a must-attend event when it comes to battery technology. The urgent energy transition and the envisaged decarbonization require sustainable solutions for vehicle electrification. Thus, the AABC is dedicated to current technical developments and innovations. Automotive OEMs and key suppliers provide insights into where the journey is headed.

The experts from Freudenberg Sealing Technologies (FST) will also be in the thick of things. They will be presenting their knowledge of heat shields, the battery pressure equalization valve DIAvent and general battery applications. These will include heat shields especially developed for lithium-ion battery systems, for example. In the event of cell malfunction, they prevent the heat from “spilling over” to neighboring cells, which is an enormous safety advantage. DIAvent has proven its value as an intelligent pressure management solution for large batteries for electric and hybrid vehicles. It contains patented nonwovens that reliably ensure multifunctional battery pressure equalization even under extreme conditions. In addition to these innovations, FST offers many other tailor-made products and solutions for components in electric vehicles and fuel cell-based vehicles, such as the electrically conductive nonwoven eCON: it conducts bearing currents and thus possible electrical erosion past the bearing.
