Battery Cell Caps for prismatic cell join our sealing and engineered plastics expertise with our know-how in stamping technology to deliver a long service life. Advanced, high-performance automation systems were developed and implemented in-house to meet the requirements of a capable, flexible and efficient large-scale production. Envelopes in Prismatic Battery Cells protect the cell stack during installation and provide the electrical isolation of the cell stack from the aluminum housing. Polypropylene- or PET-foils are the industry standard material currently used for this application. Freudenberg Sealing Technology’s unique approach for cell envelopes uses nonwoven materials, which provide significant technical advantages compared to standard foils. This will help to advance battery cell designs to the next level.
