The Battery Show Europe is dedicated to the crucial building block in the area of electromobility: battery expertise. The event in Stuttgart hence focuses on advanced battery technology for electric and hybrid vehicles. It has become the industry meeting place for suppliers from the entire battery supply chain.

Freudenberg experts will be onsite to explain more about our two focus products in the battery product family: advanced battery cell caps and envelopes which offer high energy density, superior thermal management, and robust performance. Battery Cell Caps for prismatic cell join our sealing and engineered plastics expertise with our know-how in stamping technology to deliver a long service life. Advanced, high-performance automation systems were developed and implemented in-house to meet the requirements of a capable, flexible and efficient large-scale production. Envelopes in Prismatic Battery Cells protect the cell stack during installation and provide the electrical isolation of the cell stack from the aluminum housing. Polypropylene- or PET-foils are the industry standard material currently used for this application. Freudenberg Sealing Technology’s unique approach for cell envelopes uses nonwoven materials, which provide significant technical advantages compared to standard foils. This will help to advance battery cell designs to the next level.

The Freudenberg subsidiary SurTec will also be in attendance. It develops, manufactures and markets tailor-made specialty chemicals for surface treatment. The company supplies global solutions for Industrial Parts Cleaning, Metal Pre-treatment, Functional Coatings and Electroplating. 

And finally, colleagues from Freudenberg Filtration Technology will join our booth. From electrode coating and drying to battery pack assembly, high-power charging stations, and finally battery recycling – filtration plays a significant role in nearly all process steps.
